Festus native and Army Private Andy Habsieger was killed in Iraq on March 23rd with three other soldiers.    In April I was commissioned to carve a lifesize sculpture of Andy to mount in a new local park as a memorial.    I chose to use a cherry log and finish with a minimum of paint to let the beauty of the wood show through.   I recieved some pictures from the family.
